People Media

People media is defined as the sharing, influencing, spreading of information from a person to others. It can also be defined as using people with credible experiences and knowledge in their respective fields to spread what they know about a certain topic.


People in Media is referred to the people who's line of work is primarily responsible for disseminating information. This includes mediamen, artists, actors/actresses, musicians, journalists and news anchors.

 

People as Media refers to the function of a person of influencing people. This includes celebrities/politicians who do advocacy work and even the very people whom we emulate.

Text media refers to information in the form of words or alphabetic characters, delivered in its various digital and printed forms for mass delivery and communication.

 

It is the alpha numeric letters and characters presented to learners in the form of printed materials, these alpha numeric letters and characters both portray and contain meaning.

 

“Organized networks [of meaning] that people generate or use to make meaning either for themselves or for others” (Wade & Moje, 2000, p. 610)

Motion Media is defined as a class of graphics that make use of video and/or animation technology in a way that an illusion of motion or a transforming appearance is created. With the combination of sight and audio, it serves the purpose of communicating information. 

 

Motion media are graphics that use video footage and/or animation technology to create the illusion of motion or rotation, and are usually combined with audio for use in multimedia projects. Motion graphics are usually displayed via electronic media technology, but may be displayed via manual powered technology as well. The term is useful for distinguishing still graphics from graphics with a transforming appearance over time without over-specifying the form.

Visual media is a means of communication using visual effects. The communication is meant to reach a large number of people in a short amount of time.

 

They are sources of data or information in the form of visual representations. These may be abstractions, analogues, rough illustrations, or digital reproductions of the objects the data pertains to; as such they generally require the interpretation of the data gatherer. Their level of reliability compared to other sources varies considerably.

Audio Media is a form of media communication that uses audio or voice recording as a medium in the delivery of information. These are teaching-learning devices that appeal to the auditory sense of the human senses.

 

Audio media is a type of media that uses audio or sound recordings as a medium of disseminating information. This includes the use of equipment such as microphones, speakers and recording devices. It is an effective way of teaching if managed properly.

 

Audio is a technology that can produce, record, store and manipulate sound. It is an electrical or digital representation of sound. On the other hand, media is the means of communication, as radio and television, newspapers, and magazines, to cultivate, convey and express which also influences people. Together, audio media is the technology of producing and representing sound.

Audio Media

Manipulatives in the context of education are physical tools of teaching, engaging students visually and physically with objects such as coins, blocks, puzzles, markers, etc. The use of manipulatives is constructivist because students are actively engaged in discovery during the learning process. A teacher provides the materials along with a basic directions, but students should be allowed to explore the materials and ask questions before and during the lesson.

 

Manipulative media can be seen throughout education today. This type of media is most visible in pre-schools and special education where the child's attention span is short. This can also be used in higher levels through lab experiments and other learning techniques.

 

Manipulatives Media

A form of media that is a combination of text, graphics, animation, video and audio that are delivered by any electronic device that can progress the contents or by a computer.

 

A combination of any or all the aforementioned types of media.
