About the Instructor
Dr. Ferdinand Blancaflor Pitagan is an assistant professor at the College of Education, University of the Philippines - Diliman, teaching educational technology and research courses, one of which is EDTECH 101 - Instructional Media Resources.
On the first meeting I had the impression that he was going to be a terror prof since he has some kind of a no-nonsense attitude about him. Fortunately though my impression of him changed a lot since that first day. You can really see his passion for teaching from the way he prepares and handles his classes. He lightens up the atmosphere of the room by his energy and humor. He can be a bit strict but he compensates with his lightheartedness.
What I really liked about Mr. Pitagan was how he handled the class. From the first meeting alone everything was structured and organized; it is very evident that a lot of preparation had been done in order to plan out the whole course. He gave no room for doubt that he was a perfectionist from the manner that everything regarding to the course had been laid down from the start. While he may demand a lot of outputs for his class, he is also reasonable enough to give us time to prepare for it through breaks in between tasks. That way, there is absolutely no excuse not to submit all outputs on time.
Overall, I could say that taking up EDTECH 101 under Sir Pitagan is beyond what I expected.
