We hope one day every wall inside each Filipino classroom will no longer be just a wall that hinders students from knowing what's beyond, rather it'll be THE window to the infinite knowledge available through technology.

A touchscreen television or an LCD projection on each classroom wall can mean so much.

“There can be infinite uses of the computer and of new age technology, but if teachers themselves are not able to bring it into the classroom and make it work, then it fails.” – Nancy Kassebaum

The class was tasked to make an infograph regarding any of the following issues in educational technology:

  • Internet Addiction

  • Plagiarism / Copyright Infringement / Fair Use

  • Digital Divide

  • Cyber Bullying

  • Digital Pornography

Statistics shows that most of the Filipino Internet users go online for social media.

ISKO HELP LINE is a radio show/podcast that showcases the latest trends in educational technology and shares some useful tips and tricks to help the busy student make the most of this tech-savvy world. This week's episode of ISKO HELP LINE discusses the Top 5 Mobile Education Apps, for students who want to stay on top of all their requirements and learn something new even when they're on the go.

The information we used in this audio guide was based on this article: http://www.tuaw.com/2014/08/29/best-educational-apps-for-high-school-students/. The background music used is from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpMOv4BBpjU.

The UP Gazette is the newsletter I decided to create for this activity. I used the infographic generator platform Piktochart since it had a sample newsletter layout. I actually enjoyed making this newsletter since I was able to customize and show my personality and designing skills. I'm very pleased on how it turned out on screen though I really regret not printing it on a high quality paper (it was printed on a long bond paper).

The first page of the newsletter features the cover story - a personal article of mine - about the Classroom of the Future. I think it's a very apt article since it reflects the educational system that we could have if technology was integrated into it. For the article on the second page, I tried browsing through the Internet for articles about educational technology so that at the main theme of my newsletter will be related to the course. For the third page I initially wanted to have like an opinion section but while I was making the fourth page (which will feature a horoscope section, an ask-me section and mind games, I realized that the horoscope will not fit in there since the entries I found were too long for a half-page allotment. In the end, I decided to dedicate a separate page for the horoscope section.

I really enjoyed playing around with the colors, fonts and icons in Piktochart. If this weren't a requirement for class I think it would still be worth it making this newsletter.

The class was tasked to make a Session Guide based on a specific episode/video/game by the Knowledge Channel. My pair and I were assigned to the game Froggy Frog Frog, which is about Ecological Relationships.

Froggy Frog Frog is a game that demonstrates the relationships between organisms within an ecosystem through manipulative motion media. The relationships featured are predation, commensalism, competition, mutualism, and parasitism.

Check out the session guide we developed for the game Froggy Frog Frog here.
